Description
The Office of Field Placement and Partnership Outreach at LSEHD at Boston College invites applications for part‑time, in‑person University Supervisors for the 2026‑27 academic year. University Supervisors support teacher candidates in initial teacher licensure programs in elementary education, secondary education (i.e., English, history, mathematics, and sciences), and moderate disabilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The University Supervisor is responsible for observing and documenting teacher candidates' professional competencies as outlined by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (DESE) Professional Standards for Teachers and the Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP). The University Supervisor actively partners with school‑based mentors or Supervising Practitioners to support teacher candidates' developing practice.
Applicants must possess:
Teaching and/or administrative experience in the field of PK‑12 education, as well as a strong understanding of Massachusetts curriculum standards, planning, assessment, and meeting diverse student needs. A commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring teacher candidates is required and previous experience as University Supervisor and/or teacher mentor is preferred.
