Job summary

Allied Universal in Richmond, VA is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer. You will patrol, deter incidents, monitor access, and deliver professional customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff.

This role offers flexible day time shifts, a supportive team, and opportunities to grow through training and internal mobility with our Claim a Shift platform. A valid driver’s license may be required for some locations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors at a commercial real estate location by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, parking areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and follow site-specific reporting procedures.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in clear, accurate reports while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.
