Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Durham, NC to monitor facilities, assist patients and staff, and deter security incidents in a healthcare environment. The role offers flexible daytime shifts under a healthcare setting.

You will perform patrols, screen visitors, and report observations to site leadership while providing courteous support to patients and visitors. Prior security experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Criminal histories considered consistent with laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, patient-related disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and adherence to facility policies while maintaining a professional presence.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
