Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Charleston, SC. You will provide protection and high‑level customer service at a government behavioral health location, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents.

The role offers flexible day-time shifts, a pay rate of $22.00 per hour, and opportunities to learn through our training programs.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification, preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, patients, staff, and other individuals at a government behavioral health location by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, or facility concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing individuals to appropriate locations, and report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrols, observations, and interactions requiring documentation.
