Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Alarm Verification in Chicago, IL to protect patients, visitors, and staff, monitor alarms, and maintain a visible presence in a healthcare setting.

You will respond to incidents, perform routine patrols, and document incidents and patrol logs, while delivering excellent customer service. This role offers flexible day/evening shifts, opportunities to claim additional shifts, and training and growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Possess supervisory experience.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, staff, and vendor activity in accordance with site policies, reporting unusual activity or policy violations.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
