Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Guard in Norfolk, VA. The role involves patrolling aerospace/defense sites, monitoring access, and providing customer service to staff and visitors.

You will respond to alarms and incidents following site protocols, while maintaining professional communication with leadership and site contacts. The position offers flexible scheduling through our shift-claim platform, with a pay rate of $19.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of aerospace and defense facilities, including building interiors, exterior areas, access points, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and report unauthorized entry attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations through accurate reports and maintain professional communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
