Community College of Baltimore County is seeking part-time tutors to support CCBC students, promoting effective study habits and strategies to foster independent learning. Wages vary by education level, with in-person duties at Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex, and Owings Mills campuses to aid retention and close attainment gaps.

The role emphasizes one-on-one, small group, and online tutoring, with opportunities to gain CRLA certification and build mentoring skills.

Competenze

Tutor I requires a high school diploma or GED and successful completion of nine college credits with a B average in the course(s) to be tutored and faculty recommendation.
Tutor II requires an Associate Degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher in the course(s) to be tutored.
Tutor III requires a Bachelor's Degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher in the course(s) to be tutored.
Tutor IV requires a Master's Degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher in the course(s) to be tutored.
Demonstrated subject area competence.
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
Prior tutoring experience preferred.

Mansioni

Assists students in learning course content by referring to notes, assignments, and class resources.
Promotes study skills and learning strategies.
Visits classes to advertise the services provided.
Documents time spent with each student and identifies material covered.
Attends training sessions to become College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified.
Mentors, observes, and evaluates other tutors as assigned.
