Job summary

Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY is seeking a part-time STEP professional tutor to support middle and high school students. You will act as a student advocate and role model, helping participants achieve academic and career goals.

This 2–3 Saturdays per month role runs 9am–1:30pm, totaling 21 Saturdays in the school year. You will collaborate with STEP staff to promote math, science, technology and health-related career pathways.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; science majors preferred.
• New York State Teaching certificate preferred.
• Interest in, and commitment to, high school students.
• Excellent communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with STEP students one-on-one to aid short and long-range academic goals.
• Provide academic and professional counseling, assist with college and job applications.
• Facilitate seminars and programs to develop students' academic, personal, and professional growth.
