Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking part-time tutors to join the Learning Commons team. The role supports student learning across courses, following Ivy Learn materials and faculty guidelines.

This position stays open to build a pool of qualified candidates for future openings and includes pre-employment background checks. Selected candidates will assist students, manage tutor traffic, and maintain a high-quality learning environment.

Qualifications

• Be an active partner on a student tutor team within the Learning Commons facility.
• Support student learning of content covered in supported courses.
• Follow Ivy Learn material and faculty guidelines to stay current with course expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Learning Commons student traffic for sections the peer tutor is certified to teach.
• Collaborate with students around specified content domains through active learning practices and mindset messaging.
• Manage the physical space and ensure high-quality user experience for peer students.
• Provide active learning and collaboration activities as warranted or requested.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information as needed.
