Job summary

Beaufort County School District seeks qualified tutors to provide intensive tutorial services for identified students to develop academic skills. This is a classified, part-time/temporary role located at Hilton Head Island Elementary (High-Needs School).

You will work with classroom teachers, maintain student progress records, and help students develop study skills and a positive attitude toward learning. Prior tutoring experience and education credentials are preferred; a BA/BS is preferred,

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in education preferred; Associates degree or equivalent education of at least 60 college credit hours and experience required.
• Prior tutorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic assistance to assigned students, group or one-on-one, as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Collaborates with the classroom teacher to assess students and tailor tutorial methods.
• Maintains records on each tutored student and tracks progress.
• Helps students develop study skills and positive attitudes toward learning.
• Assists in cooperative group project design and implementation.
• Attends training sessions to improve tutoring competency.
