Sylvan is currently hiring Part-Time Tutors at ourSchaumburg and Lake Zurich/Barrington, IL locations!

We are hiring Part-Time tutors and provide in-person tutoringfor students K-12:

• Reading/English Tutor
• Math Tutor
• Early Elementary Reading Tutor
• Beginning Reading Tutor
• TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor
• Writing Tutor
• Study Skills Tutor
• Tutors do not need proficiency in all areas above. We schedule to your area(s) of interest.

Requirements:

• For Reading/English tutors:Education/Teaching Degree required (or students pursuing Education Degree).
• For Math tutors: Strong proficiency through Algebra 2 (Education Degree not required).
• For TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor: Strong ACT/SAT score (30/1400 preferred). Education Degree not required.
• 1 year ofteaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Ability to make connections with students.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Working out of one of our locations in Lake Zurich/Barrington or Schaumburg.

Sylvan Learning Centers are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade. We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills. We also offer ACT/SAT Test Prep and STEM.

We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday/Sunday, and at least one day during the week. We have extended teaching opportunities in the summer, where we add morning hours.
