Indiana University Bloomington is seeking part-time dining staff for IMU Dining in Bloomington, IN. The position supports Tudor Room lunch and brunch service, assists with event setup, and maintains high standards of guest service and safety.

Roles require teamwork, reliability, and strong communication in a fast-paced food-service environment. Work hours are 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, Sunday–Friday, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and a cap at 29 hours.

IMU dining runs all dining operations in the Indiana Memorial Union, including the Tudor Room, Sugar and Spice, The Vault Pub, and the Globe. IMU dining staff work closely with the hotel and catering teams, as well as IU's retail dining, to embody the Hoosier spirit through every customer interaction.

IU Dining and Hospitality provides a dynamic work environment with a variety of events, from weddings, private events, fine dining, and casual.

Department Specific Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality guest service.

• Maintains standards ensuring consistent presentation, aesthetics of setting and quality of guest service.
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with a focus on providing exceptional guest service.
• Participates in the setup, execution, and clearing of the Tudor Room.
• Sets up the space for regular lunch service and special events.
• Operates a point of sale (POS) device and runs checks to guest tables.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

This position requires tasks typically associated with food service work. It involves periods of both sedentary work and times of frequent movement about the workspace. Using commercial kitchen equipment and tools, moving supplies weighing from 20 - 30 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. This role also will work indoors around both hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. This role involves handling meat and plant-based food products as well as a variety of ingredients that may include some or all of the top 9 allergens in the preparation of menu items and during the course of cleaning and ware-washing tasks. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
