Through meticulous planning and coordination, constant innovation, and a keen attention to detail, IU Catering staff use fresh, seasonal ingredients to deliver spectacular client-driven culinary experiences on campus and throughout Bloomington, from piping hot coffee and in-house baked pastries for a meeting of 20, to a sumptuous 5-course meal and elegant custom cake for a wedding of 200.

• Provides high-quality guest service while enforcing policies and safety
• Ensures guests have a positive, memorable experience
• Assists with bar set-up/close-down plans including cash close-out
• Maintains standards ensuring consistent presentation, aesthetics of setting, and quality of beverage service
• Attends beer, wine, and spirits trainings
• Assists with catering events

EDUCATION

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

• Bartending experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required

• Ability to obtain Alcohol Serving Permit upon date of hire.

OTHER

• 21 years of age or older.

This position involves remaining stationery for extended periods of time, and the ability to move items weighing up to 40 pounds. Effective communication skills are necessary. The role requires the ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away, discern between colors, detect objects in peripheral space of self, discern items in detail, and to have good depth perception. This role also will work indoors around both hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Shifts available Sunday - Saturday
