Job summary

BAY AGING is seeking a part-time van driver in Gloucester County, VA to provide safe, timely rides to Bay Transit passengers to work, retail, medical, and other activities. Reports to the Regional Transit Operations Supervisor.

The role requires operating a 12-passenger bus, adhering to schedules, and coordinating with dispatchers. Candidates should have a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a 12-passenger transit bus.

Responsibilities

• Pick‑up and drop‑off passengers as scheduled.
• Ensure passenger safety and assist with wheelchairs if needed.
• Maintain contact with dispatcher via two‑way radio and tablet.
• Accommodate last‑minute route changes as instructed.
• Maintain a clean bus inside and out.
• Collect fare or transit tickets and complete paperwork.
• Complete a time card accurately every day.
