Job summary

Pocatello Fire Department is seeking a part-time Transit Driver to operate Department vehicles on a fixed route or schedule, and potentially provide door-to-door service for eligible patrons. The role requires safe driving and strong customer service to ensure timely, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities include collecting fares, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, assisting passengers, and maintaining route logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements required.
• One (1) year of large vehicle driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates Department vehicles, providing passengers with timely, reliable, and safe transportation.
• Collects fares and/or checks passes or transportation vouchers.
• Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections including fuel, fluids, tires, and potential damage.
• Assists passengers on and off bus, operates wheelchair lift and secures wheelchairs.
• Provides fare, route information, schedules, transfers, and maps to passengers; maintains order.
