Job summary

The City of Pocatello Transit Department is hiring a Transit Driver to operate buses and paratransit vehicles, collect fares, and assist passengers. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, support accessibility needs, and provide route information to riders in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Class B CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements required.
• One (1) year of large vehicle driving experience is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operates Department vehicles, providing passengers with timely, reliable transportation.
• Collects fares and/or checks passes or transportation vouchers.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks for safety and readiness.
• Assists passengers on and off bus, including wheelchair lift operation.
• Provides fare and route information, schedules, transfers, and maps; promotes positive passenger experience.
