Job summary

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Phoenix is seeking a part-time associate to support daily thrift store operations. You will assist customers, handle cash transactions, stock shelves, and ensure the sales floor remains organized and welcoming.

Must be able to work Saturdays, maintain dependable attendance, and uphold SVdP standards of service and respect for volunteers and customers alike. This role emphasizes friendliness, accuracy, and physical endurance for stocking and store duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of prior retail customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work on Saturdays.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Ability to operate POS system.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in daily thrift store operations.
• Assist customers with purchasing needs and answer inquiries.
• Operate cash register and handle cash transactions.
• Accept donations and prepare receipts.
• Stock merchandise and create displays for customer appeal.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain store cleanliness.
• Follow policies and procedures and support SVdP culture.
