The Salvation Army Fairbanks Thrift Store is looking for a Store Cashier/Sorter to join our team. This part-time role (25 hours per week) involves operating the cash register, handling money, pricing inventory, and assisting in the warehouse as needed.

You will ensure accurate transactions, support customer service, and help maintain store presentation while supporting our mission and donation processes in Fairbanks, AK.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Some knowledge of inventory control, retail sales, and loss prevention.
• Ability to operate cash register, credit card machines and handle monetary transactions.
• Skill in maintaining excellent customer service by giving prompt and courteous assistance to customers.
• Current Alaska identification with acceptable criminal history record.

Responsabilités

• Maintains cash register, ringing in sales, issuing credit slips, and making corrections and/or voice.
• Assists with counting daily cash deposit and safeguards cash at all times.
• Responds professionally to telephone inquiries and routes calls as necessary.
• Receives and assists in resolving complaints from customers regarding merchandise.
• Provides for excellent customer relations by giving prompt and courteous assistance to customers, ensuring all merchandise has been properly priced.
