Job summary

AlmaVia of San Francisco is hiring a Part Time Life Enrichment Specialist to design and deliver therapeutic programs tailored to residents' needs, including dementia care. You will collaborate with care staff and volunteers to implement engaging activities and track resident responses.

You will plan monthly calendars, mentor interns, lead staff trainings, and build community partnerships while promoting the community's Mission, Vision and Culture of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Registered or Board-Certified Creative Arts Therapist, or eligible to obtain certification within one year of hire.
• Experience conducting therapeutic activity groups with older adults, including dementia.
• Experience planning and delivering therapeutic programs in long-term care.
• Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
• Ability to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Designs and delivers engaging therapeutic programs for residents based on assessed needs and abilities.
• Collaborates with the Life Enrichment Director and care staff to coordinate events and activities.
• Participates in regular meetings with memory care and assisted living teams for integrated programming.
• Observes and documents changes in resident engagement and reports to supervisors.
• Assists with planning and posting monthly activity calendars.
• Builds community partnerships and volunteers to support activities.
• May transport residents to off-site events using company-approved transportation.
• Supports interdisciplinary efforts with Spiritual Care and other departments.
• Mentors student interns pursuing relevant therapy degrees.
• Facilitates training sessions for staff on therapeutic programming.
