Job summary

Roland Park Place in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to design, plan and lead activities for residents in our residential and long‑term care neighborhoods. You will maintain activity records, transport residents to events, supervise volunteers, and support the Therapeutic Recreation Manager in developing engaging programs that promote physical, mental and social well‑being.

An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred; two years with the geriatric population; experience

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years working with the geriatric population.
• Experience leading groups with varying physical/cognitive independence.
• CTR/S NCCAP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and facilitate structured activities for residents in residential and long‑term care neighborhoods.
• Maintain activity documentation and records.
• Transport residents to activities and events.
• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programming in collaboration with the manager.
• Assist with activity schedules and program logistics.
• Assist volunteers and orient them under the Therapeutic Recreation Manager.
• Interview residents to determine daily interests and preferences.
