Job summary

The Ohio Veterans Homes, part of Ohio Department of Veterans Services, is hiring Therapeutic Program Workers (TPWs) in Sandusky on a PRN/part-time basis. The position supports residents with daily living activities and provides direct care under supervision.

Eligible applicants may have STNA certification or a high school diploma, and will work varying shifts with a 30+ hour minimum per month. Compensation is $23.28 per hour, with OCSEA under union.

Qualifications

• A Therapeutic Program Worker is a direct care worker that helps residents with daily living skills and assists them with needs.
• Assists with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, communications, assist with feeding.
• Observe & report changes in symptoms, behaviors, accidents, incidents or injuries to charge nurse.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to charge nurse.
• Assist with daily living activities and routine tasks.
• Transport and accompany residents to activities.
• Perform light housekeeping in living areas.
• Complete daily, monthly, and other required documentation.
• Apply safety and infection control measures.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of residents.
