Job summary

Casper College is seeking a part-time Theatre Shop Supervisor (Scene Shop Foreman) to oversee scenic construction and the installation of lighting for the Department of Theatre and Dance productions under the direction of Technical Theatre faculty.

This role requires strong carpentry and metalworking skills, the ability to supervise students, ensure shop safety, and coordinate with designers, directors, staff, and faculty.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Wood (carpentry) skills
• Metal working skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with artistic staff
• Ability to supervise and work patiently with students
• Experience with power tools
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures
• Ability to perform physical labor for the duration of the shift

Responsibilities

• Oversee scenic construction, including painting
• Oversee lighting equipment installation
• Oversee maintenance of scene shop equipment, including inventory
• Communicate and maintain safety standards
• Work collaboratively with designers and directors
• Communicate with staff, students, and faculty
• Supervise Stagecraft Lab, work-study, and production students
• Participate in strikes for all productions
