Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Part‑Time Test Center Facilitator. This position requires a detail‑oriented professional who can perform a variety of challenging administrative duties. The staff associate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, parents, and students, including individuals with a wide range of disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Promote and facilitate retention and access for all students with disabilities through active engagement.
- Promote services of SAS to the university community through various communication strategies.
- Monitor and promote the note‑taking system, the peer mentoring system, the student database, and overall office operations and organization.
- Organize files and complete necessary documentation.
- Support campus‑wide programs and services for all students with disabilities by reviewing requests, documents, and eligibility for academic accommodations.
- Communicate information about program services to faculty, staff, students, and guests with disabilities to ensure programmatic and physical access to the university.
- Educate the university community about the issues affecting students with disabilities through seminars, workshops, forums, speakers, classroom presentations, and newsletters.
- Ensure university‑wide services such as C‑Print Captioning and advocate for universal design. Address and advocate during ADA conflicts and promote services that increase campus accessibility.
- Proctor tests as needed on behalf of students with disabilities.
- Attend professional conferences periodically to stay current on issues affecting students with disabilities.
- Serve on division and university committees as designated and perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of office and administrative practices and principles; solid working knowledge of providing reasonable accommodations as defined by Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Strong knowledge of Assistive Learning Technology, including hardware and software for students with disabilities.
- Working knowledge of standard office software including BANNER, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of ADA, ADAAA, 508, and 504 compliance.
- Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills; excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to be certified in C‑Print Captioning.
- Ability to multi‑task under pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, and other backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Some disability‑related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
