Job summary

Virginia Credit Union is seeking a Teller to provide superior member service by accurately processing teller transactions in line with VACU policies. You will build member relationships by understanding VACU products and recommending suitable services.

The role requires cash handling experience, good math skills, and strong computer proficiency. You will work with a team to balance cash drawers and adhere to enterprise policies, with ongoing training in BSA and Information Security.

Qualifications

• Cash handling experience in a financial setting preferred.
• Satisfactory computer skills preferred.
• Math aptitude and accurate numerical work are essential.
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; cash handling experience preferred in a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Performs paying and receiving functions with accurate balancing and reporting, including deposits, check cashing, loan payments, and other transactions.
• Provides superior member service by accurately processing teller transactions and recommending VACU products and services.
• Maintains knowledge of VACU products and services to meet member needs and makes appropriate referrals.
• Verifies and balances cash drawer daily with minimal variances and assists in reconciling discrepancies.
• Handles transactions efficiently, seeking supervisor approval for items beyond authority.
