Summary
This position is responsible for providing exceptional service to bank customers by conducting transactions and referring customers to appropriate departments.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Explain, promote, and sell products such as traveler’s checks, savings bonds, money orders, and cashier’s checks. Cross-sell additional bank products and refer customers for new accounts or investment needs.
- Receive deposits, verify cash and endorsements, identify counterfeit currency, and issue deposit receipts.
- Examine checks deposited, determine funds availability, and complete Hold Notices as necessary.
- Cash checks, pay out money after verification, process withdrawals, and record transactions.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding charges and account histories, adhering to privacy policies.
- Accept loan payments, verify amounts, and issue receipts.
- Buy and sell currency, ensuring cash drawer limits are maintained.
- Receive FICA payments, verifying proper completion and payee.
- Follow procedures for account dormancy and uncollected funds holds.
- Balance cash drawers daily, including ATM and night depository cash, and log currency transactions.
- Attend weekly sales and monthly community meetings.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle customer complaints and escalate as needed.
- Suggest improvements to supervisor.
- Complete annual compliance exams.
- Follow all policies and dress professionally.
Employee Specifications
High school diploma or GED required. Cash handling, sales, or customer service experience preferred. Prior teller experience is a plus.
