Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in Los Angeles (KTLA) seeks a part-time Production Lighting Board Operator/Grip to support studio broadcasts, program and operate lighting, and manage teleprompter systems.

Requires 5–7 years in a major market, leadership ability, and familiarity with ENPS and ETC ION; union membership (IATSE) or willingness to join; shifts include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years lighting experience in a major market.
• Experience with teleprompter systems.
• Knowledge of newsroom operations and production processes.
• Ability to work varied shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, and maintain studio lighting.
• Operate lighting control console and program lighting.
• Support teleprompter operations for news broadcasts.
• Coordinate lighting maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist with props, grip functions, and set maintenance.
• Ensure safe workspace and report trip hazards.
