Job summary

The Cigna Group in Denver, CO or Las Vegas, NV, seeks a Part-Time Staff Pharmacist to provide telepharmacy services across multiple states. This role supports clinical teams and ensures safe, compliant medication practices in a part-time capacity, including evenings and holidays.

You will work 1-2 evenings weekly and some holidays per year, gaining experience with hospital systems and PIS platforms. Requires a B.S. in Pharmacy, NV/CO license, and willingness to obtain additional licenses.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Active and in good standing Colorado or Nevada pharmacist license.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses (AL, LA, MS, MI, SC, NY).
• 1+ years inpatient hospital experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with formulary management and P&T procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling.
• Support multiple clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems (PIS).
• Provide proactive clinical pharmacy services and therapeutic recommendations.
• Adjust dosing, manage drug interactions and infusion guidance.
• Maintain knowledge of IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy.
• Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use.
• Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours.
• Document orders, interventions, and recommendations in PLRX by end of shift.
• Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws and internal policies.
