The ideal candidate creates an inclusive, engaging classroom and delivers age-appropriate lessons while collaborating with families and staff in Wayne, NJ. This part-time role runs Tuesdays and Fridays 8:30 am–1:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, STEM, CS, Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Experience teaching STEM, coding, robotics, or technology-based lessons with elementary-aged students.
• Familiarity with internet safety and digital citizenship.
• Knowledge of block-based coding platforms such as Scratch or Blockly.
• Experience creating hands-on, developmentally appropriate tech lessons.
• Ability to integrate technology into academic learning and project-based activities.
• Strong classroom management and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on student levels.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain.
• State-required background check.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and can make technology approachable, exciting, and developmentally appropriate. This individual will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Required Schedule: Tuesdays and Fridays 8:30 am- 1:00 pm in Wayne, NJ

Key Responsibilities Include

• Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons in technology, STEM, coding, and robotics.
• Introduce students to basic coding and programming concepts using platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, and other child-friendly applications.
• Teach internet safety, digital citizenship, responsible online behavior, and the appropriate use of technology.
• Create weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and students' developmental levels.
• Incorporate creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and project-based learning into classroom activities.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varying abilities, learning styles, and levels of technology experience.
• Assess and track student progress through projects, activities, observations, and technology-based assignments.
• Maintain a structured, encouraging, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Provide effective classroom management and maintain required student-to-teacher ratios.
• Communicate professionally and collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and school leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in education, STEM, Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
• Experience teaching or facilitating STEM, coding, robotics, or technology-based lessons with elementary-aged students required.
• Familiarity with internet safety, digital citizenship, and responsible technology use.
• Basic knowledge of coding and programming concepts, including block-based coding platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, or similar elementary-level programs.
• Experience developing and implementing engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate technology or STEM lessons.
• Ability to integrate technology into academic learning and project-based activities.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on students' experience levels, developmental needs, and learning styles.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
