Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools seeks an enthusiastic Specialty Teacher – Technology to introduce preschool- and elementary-aged students to technology, STEM, coding, and robotics through hands-on learning.

The ideal candidate creates an inclusive, engaging classroom and delivers age-appropriate lessons while collaborating with families and staff in Wayne, NJ. This part-time role runs Tuesdays and Fridays 8:30 am–1:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, STEM, CS, Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Experience teaching STEM, coding, robotics, or technology-based lessons with elementary-aged students.
• Familiarity with internet safety and digital citizenship.
• Knowledge of block-based coding platforms such as Scratch or Blockly.
• Experience creating hands-on, developmentally appropriate tech lessons.
• Ability to integrate technology into academic learning and project-based activities.
• Strong classroom management and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on student levels.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain.
• State-required background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons in technology, STEM, coding, and robotics.
• Introduce students to basic coding using Scratch, Blockly, and similar tools.
• Teach internet safety and digital citizenship.
• Create weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Incorporate creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and project-based learning.
• Differentiate instruction for varying abilities and tech experience.
• Assess and track student progress through projects and activities.
• Maintain a structured, inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, teachers, and school leadership.
