Job summary

Monroe Community College seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach hands-on, certification-prep courses across Networking, Security, Development, Data Science, and IT. Instruction includes CCNA courses, cybersecurity certs, AI programming, Front-end Dev tracks, data analytics, and IT fundamentals.

Classes may be at Brighton or Downtown Campus or delivered remotely, hybrid, or online. This is a temporary part-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution
• Relevant industry certifications in Networking, IT Support, Security, Development, Data Science
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, Networking, cybersecurity, or IT operations
• Demonstrated ability to teach technical subjects effectively to diverse learners
• Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom and campus environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction and facilitate student learning in assigned course(s)
• Design lesson plans and hands-on lab activities that align with course objectives and certification standards
• Assess and evaluate student performance using a variety of instructional methods and assessment tools
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and course documentation
• Provide timely feedback and mentorship to students
• Support department efforts related to student retention and completion
• Utilize MCC's learning management system (e.g., Brightspace/D2L) to enhance course delivery
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities as needed
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development and industry engagement
• Position Reports to Program Director - Software & IT.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
