Job summary

East Greenbush CSD is accepting applications for 6 Part-time Teaching Assistants. The positions are 3.5 hours per day, 10 months per year. The roles involve supporting students with the curriculum, social-emotional needs, ADLs, and assistive technologies, plus one-on-one or small group tutoring under supervision.

Candidates MUST hold valid New York State Teaching Assistant or Classroom Teacher Certification.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid New York State Teaching Assistant or Classroom Teacher Certification.
• Experience supporting students with social-emotional and management needs is a plus.
• Ability to provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to reinforce curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Work with students or groups to support understanding of the curriculum.
• Support students with social-emotional and management needs.
• Assist with ADLs and self-help skills or technology-assisted communication devices.
• Provide tutoring for re-teaching and review in small groups or one-on-one.
• Assist with classroom management and implement behavior plans under teacher supervision.
• Provide instructional assistance in a computer lab or other instructional location.
