Job summary

Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Kimbrough Early Learning Center. This on-site, 15-hour-per-week role supports teachers with daily activities, classroom routines, and child engagement for ages 2–5.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience with preschoolers, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to Indiana state licensing standards. Preferred CPR/First Aid and CDA credential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children ages 2–5.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to adhere to Indiana State regulations for licensed childcare centers and Paths to Quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with basic needs (hygiene, eating, restroom).
• Support teachers with activities inside and outside the classroom.
• Keep classrooms organized and running efficiently.
• Assist with laundry, cleaning and disinfecting tasks.
• Provide coverage when staff are on vacation or ill.
• Communicate effectively with children and families.
