Job summary

Randolph County School System Trindale Elementary in Archdale, NC seeks a part‑time Teacher Assistant (4 hours daily, 9–10 months) to support classroom instruction and student needs. Duties include one‑on‑one academic support, small group activities, and clerical tasks.

Candidate must have one of the specified education options and be willing to obtain a bus driver license for substitute on the bus. The position reports to the Assigned Teacher/Principal and requires a valid NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have one of: Associate degree, 48 semester hours, or WorkKeys pass.
• Must be willing and eligible to obtain a bus driver's license and sub as needed on the bus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC DMV.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with executing instruction and evaluating its effectiveness.
• Constantly monitor the safety and well‑being of students.
• Monitor student attitudes and encourage self‑esteem.
• Assist students with becoming increasingly independent.
• Monitor student behavior and helps maintain discipline in the classroom.
• Record time out and in class suspension.
• Assist with crisis prevention; restrain students appropriately and as trained, as needed.
• Assist students with learning; reinforce and clarify instructions as permitted.
