Wiser Choice Learning in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Part-Time Floating Teacher Assistant to support our early childhood classrooms across 2-Year-Old, 3K, and Pre-K. The role requires flexibility to float between classrooms and assist Lead Teachers with activities.

This in-person position starts at $18.50 per hour, increasing to $19.50 after a 90-day probation. Candidates must have a high school diploma, be reliable, and pass health, safety, and background checks.

Part-Time Floating Teacher Assistant – Early Childhood Education

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and flexible Part-Time Floating Teacher Assistant to support our early childhood classrooms in Brooklyn, NY. This position will assist in any classroom where coverage or additional support is needed, including our 2-Year-Old, 3K, and Pre-K classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Float between classrooms based on daily staffing and program needs
• Assist Lead Teachers with classroom activities and lessons
• Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks, meetings, and absences
• Supervise and actively engage with children throughout the day
• Support children with meals, toileting, transitions, rest time, and daily routines
• Quickly adjust to the routines and expectations of different classrooms and age groups
• Help maintain clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classrooms
• Follow all classroom schedules, safety procedures, and center policies
• Communicate professionally with teachers, directors, children, and families
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and preparation of learning materials
• Report concerns promptly to the Lead Teacher or Director
• Participate in required meetings, orientation, training, and professional development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with young children preferred
• Must be flexible, patient, nurturing, reliable, and comfortable working in different classrooms
• Must be able to follow directions and work collaboratively with multiple teaching teams
• Must complete all required health, safety, and early childhood training
• Must provide current medical clearanceMust successfully complete all required background checks and fingerprinting
• Must be able to stand, bend, sit on the floor, and lift up to 40 pounds when needed

Pay

• Starting rate: $18.50 per hour
• Increase to $19.50 per hour after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period

Schedule

This is a part-time, in-person position. Candidates must be dependable and available to work their assigned schedule consistently. Specific days and hours will be discussed during the interview.
