Job summary

Southdale YMCA is seeking a Swim Instructor (age 16+) to teach swim lessons and water safety to participants of all ages. This part-time role offers paid training, a free YMCA membership, and the opportunity to contribute to members’ confidence and lifelong swimming skills.

The position requires on-site work, flexible evenings and weekends, and close adherence to YMCA policies and safety standards while delivering engaging instruction in a safe pool environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.

Responsibilities

• Provide swimming instruction to students of various ages and ability levels.
• Maintain constant supervision of students and assist swimmers as needed to ensure a positive learning environment.
• Know, understand, and communicate pool policies and procedures.
• Evaluate students and recommend placement in the correct skill level.
