The YMCA of Greater Hartford seeks a part-time Swim Instructor to lead swimming classes under the direction of the Aquatics Director. The role emphasizes greeting, relationship-building with students and parents, and adherence to program guidelines.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, record-keeping, staff coordination, and promoting YMCA values. Must uphold safety procedures and assist with substitute lesson plans and program questions.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Current YMCA swim instructor certificate or equivalent; CPR for the Professional Rescuer; infant, child and adult first aid certification optional.
• Maturity, responsibility and genuine interest in working with people.

Responsabilités

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA USA guidelines and program.
• Builds relationships with students and parents; encourages parent involvement.
• Maintains attendance and progress records as required.
• Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.
• Provides a lesson plan for substitutes.
• Promotes the YMCA mission and demonstrate YMCA Character Development.
• Enforces pool rules.
• All other duties as assigned.
