The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor in Plainville, CT. Under the Aquatics Director, you will lead swimming lessons, greet students by name, build relationships, and ensure the YMCA values are conveyed during classes.

You will maintain records, follow safety procedures, train aides, and promote YMCA mission while providing quality instruction to participants of all ages.

Formación

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Current YMCA swim instructor certificate or equivalent; CPR for the Professional Rescuer; Oxygen Admin and First Aid certification optional.
• Maturity, responsibility, positive values and sincere interest in working with people.

Responsabilidades

• Instruct swimming lessons per program guidelines with prepared lesson plans.
• Build authentic relationships with students and parents; encourage involvement.
• Maintain attendance and progress records.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Follow YMCA policies and safety procedures; complete incident reports as necessary.
• Organize and store class equipment; report damaged equipment.
• Train and supervise class aides.
• Provide a lesson plan for substitutes.
• Promote YMCA mission and character development.
• Be acquainted with other facilities and activities.
• Enforce pool rules.
• All other duties as assigned.
