Job summary

Riptide Aquatics in Lakeland, FL is seeking a part-time on-site Swim Coach to develop Intermediate swimmers, focusing on fundamentals, technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of competitive swimming. You will work with our coaching team to create a positive, challenging, and supportive environment that helps young athletes grow.

As part of the team, you’ll lead practices, cheer swimmers at meets, and celebrate personal bests, while collaborating with other coaches to ensure a cohesive program

Qualifications

• Strong swimming skills and experience participating in organized swim programs or teams.
• Proficiency in Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons, with the ability to teach stroke mechanics and water safety to diverse age groups.
• Knowledge of Aquatics programs and pool operations, including basic safety protocols.
• Clear and encouraging communication skills, with the ability to give constructive feedback to swimmers.
• Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed. Normal hours will typically be Mon-Fri 5pm-7pm and Sat 8am-10am
• CPR, First Aid, and relevant coaching or aquatic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach Intermediate swimmers and help develop strong fundamentals and technique.
• Collaborate with all coaches to create a positive, challenging and supportive team environment.
• Lead practices, cheer swimmers at meets, and celebrate personal bests for young athletes.
