Job summary

Whitefish High School, part of the Whitefish School District 44, is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach to support the Head Coach in developing athletes and ensuring a safe program aligned with MHSA guidelines. The role emphasizes student safety, teamwork, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, MHSA requirements, and current first aid/CPR certification. Preferred candidates may be certified teachers with prior coaching experience and ability to read safety

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold current certified first aid and CPR.
• Preferred: certified teacher; coaching experience; ability to read safety rules and interpret manuals; ability to write routine reports; knowledge of Title IX regulations.

Responsibilities

• Instruction & Coaching: coach participants in skills and safety.
• Supervision & Leadership: assume Head Coach duties in their absence and supervise students at events.
• Operations: assist in scheduling, drills, and scouting as directed.
• Accountability: maintain equipment inventory and enforce rules and district policies.
• Professionalism: be a positive role model and protect student confidentiality.
