Qualifications

• Surgical/Scrub Tech certification preferred.
• Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of related experience.
• Excellent teamwork and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to each surgical case.
• Assess the needs of the patient and surgeon for the assigned case.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts.
• Provide the surgeon with requested instruments, supplies, and equipment in a timely fashion
• Maintain sterility of surgical environment
• Assist with instrument and room cleanup
• Assist with positioning of the patient
• Use and maintains instruments and equipment according to safety guidelines
• Assist with maintenance of stock supply levels for assigned operating room
• Monitors out-of-date supplies and rotates as required
• Assist with proper distribution of all specimens in log books under supervision of Circulating RN
• Adheres to confidentiality standards, HIPAA regulations
• Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork
• Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.
