Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Springfield, IL is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate to manage branch inventory and support procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions for local customers.

This role centers on day-to-day supply chain operations at our 1101 W Madison St location. Responsibilities include processing purchase orders, backorder management, price estimation, coordinating resources, and assisting accounts receivable, with occasional deliveries using a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license with ability to meet driving record requirements for using a company vehicle.
• Pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25lbs-50lbs and up to 75lbs.
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
