Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate to help manage inventory and support B2B procurement, quoting, and sourcing for customer needs.

The role operates at the Cedar Falls branch with specific shift hours and up to 28 hours per week. You will assist with inventory, purchasing, price quoting, and coordination of resources, while supporting AR activities and occasional Company vehicle deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Possess a current full valid driver’s license and meet driving record requirements to operate a company vehicle.
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong organization and prioritizing abilities.
• Demonstrate problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Demonstrate Fastenal core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25–50 lbs and up to 75 lbs.
• Pass drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam) and sex offender registry check.

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels.
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management.
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product.
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs.
• Supporting accounts receivable activities.
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary.
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
