Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Supply Chain Associate in South Portland, ME 04106. The role focuses on managing inventory, supporting procurement, sourcing, and quoting to meet customer needs, with potential flexible scheduling after onboarding.

The position is based at 125 John Roberts Rd, South Portland. The candidate should have or be pursuing a related degree, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; a valid driver's license and drug screening are

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Must possess a current valid driver's license and meet driving record requirements to operate a company vehicle
• Pursuing or holding a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Demonstrate Fastenal's core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift/carry 25–50 lbs (up to 75 lbs) as needed
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico, Guam)

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties to ensure branch success
