The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, drug-free environment, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting clients through screenings, treatment planning, and resource navigation. Responsibilities include documentation, emergency response, client advocacy, and participating in staff meetings and trainings.
High school diploma or equivalent required; current registration with CCAPP, CADTP, or CAADE, with ongoing certification, is necessary. A minimum of 6 months' experience in addiction treatment, social services, or nonprofit settings, and experience working with individuals facing addiction, mental illness, or homelessness are essential. Key skills include strong communication, organization, problem-solving, confidentiality, and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to multi-task are also required.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 30 pounds; work in an office setting; respond to diverse and potentially challenging situations; and maintain communication with a diverse population.
