Job summary

Braven is seeking a Part-Time Substitute Leadership Coach to support virtual Accelerator Learning Labs for Fellows. This temporary role is remote from GA, IL, NY, or NJ and requires evening/weekend availability. A two-hour online class will be led for cohorts of 5–8 Fellows using Braven’s established curriculum.

The position offers a 6-hour weekly commitment, an hourly rate of $25, and training. You will report to the Associate Director, Volunteer Operations on the External Affairs team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience with teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking.
• Experience delivering instruction in virtual settings.
• Comfort with Zoom and online class platforms.

Start Date : Immediate start through December 18, 2026, aligned with fall semester cycle

Duration : Seasonal from August 2026 - December 2026 (Potential option to continue January 2027 - May 2027)

Hours : 6 hours per week, dependent on substitute openings, with the majority of hours worked after business hours, Monday through Friday

Hourly Rate : $25/hr

About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring part-time Substitute Leadership Coaches (LCs) to facilitate Braven's Accelerator Learning Labs (Braven’s accredited course) when there are LC absences. A Substitute LC will lead a two-hour virtual class for a cohort of 5-8 Fellows (college students) using an established curriculum. In this role, you will gain experience in teaching and facilitation while positively impacting the lives of hundreds of college students.

Training will be provided.

This role is on the Volunteer Team within the External Affairs team and reports directly to the Associate Director, Volunteer Operations.

What You'll Do

• Facilitate virtual Accelerator Learning Labs as a substitute for absent LCs
• Prepare to facilitate Braven content by meeting with the Braven team and practicing independently
• Attend all LC trainings (~6 total training hours) to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Learning Labs and work with Fellows effectively
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking skills
• Familiarity with Zoom and facilitating in a virtual environment
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback
• Exemplification of Braven's core values
• Experience that has informed your belief in Braven's mission and has prepared you to work with, or for, Braven's student Fellow population

You must be consistently available during at least three of the following times per week to facilitate virtual Learning Labs, including our highest-need times. The highest-need times are below in bold. Our fall semester runs from roughly mid-August to mid-December. When possible, we will develop an on-call schedule for substitute opportunities one week in advance.
