Job summary

Bismarck Public Schools is seeking a Detention/Study Hall Supervisor for Simle Middle School. The role supports instruction by supervising students during in-school detention or study hall, recording behavior, and communicating with teachers and parents.

The position works 6.5 hours per day, follows the school calendar, and requires dependable attendance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage youth in a structured environment while performing clerical tasks and upholding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating standard office equipment and software.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise students in detention or study hall to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Track and manage student attendance according to school policies.
• Distribute assignments during student absences to help them stay on track.
• Document student behavior and prepare log entries for records and reports.
• Provide verbal and written feedback to teachers regarding students’ progress.
• Tutor students on assigned classwork to support completion of assignments.
• Oversee backpacks, keys and supervision outside the classroom to ensure proper management.
• Perform clerical tasks such as updating records and adhering to school policies.
• Maintain consistent attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
