Job summary

Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX seeks a PT Student Teacher Supervisor (COED) to evaluate teacher candidates in local schools and support field-based instruction.

The role requires a Master’s degree in education and five years of classroom or related experience, plus current Texas teaching certification and active T-TESS appraisal eligibility. The supervisor conducts classroom evaluations, develops model lessons, and participates in seminars and department meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in an education related discipline.
• Experience: Five years of classroom teaching and/or non-teaching administrative experience.
• Current certification in the supervision area (educational diagnostician, principal or school counselor).
• Licensing: Texas Education Agency ID, current Texas Teaching Certification, active T-TESS appraiser certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating the performance of teacher candidates in the classroom setting of local and surrounding areas.
• Completing a minimum of four, formal classroom evaluations.
• Developing model lessons as needed.
• Participating in and/or conducting seminars.
• Attending department or College meetings required by the Department, Chair or Dean.
