Job summary

Qualifications

• Assist students to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by the classroom teacher.
• Develop and devise strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on individual student needs, interests and abilities.
• Carry out classroom instructional support and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to student learning and achievement.
• Perform other duties consistent with student safety and learning.
• Alert the teacher or administrator to any student problems or special information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good rapport and work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers and administration.
• Work with students to support learning and engagement.
• Keep order while motivating and ensuring a safe, welcoming learning environment.
