Job summary

Mcbain is seeking a paraprofessional to assist the special education teacher and building administration. The role covers teaching-related activities as well as non-teaching duties, with responsibilities aligned to the current bargaining agreement.

Open positions for K-5 and 6-12, 5 ¾ hours per day. Duties include instruction, behavior support, supervision, progress tracking, materials development, attendance and clerical tasks, and use of instructional technology.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.

Responsibilities

• Provides group or individualized academic instruction, remediation or guided practice.
• Monitors and records student progress and behavior, including data collection.
• Assists in development, maintenance, and adaptation of instructional materials.
• Maintains attendance records and performs clerical tasks under teacher direction.
• Assists with use of instructional technology in the classroom.
• Supervises students during arrival, recess, lunch, and dismissal.
• Performs other duties as assigned by teachers or administrator.
