Job summary

Ashby Ponds by Erickson Senior Living is hiring Student Servers. No experience is required as training is provided. This role offers flexible shifts starting in the late afternoon, with meals provided during shifts and opportunities for growth within the team.

We seek student team players who can greet guests warmly, describe menu items, and deliver food promptly while maintaining exceptional service standards. This position supports our dining rooms and resident dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Current high school student, 16 years of age or older.
• Serving experience preferred, but training will be provided.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for long periods, carry trays, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Strong work ethic and positive, team attitude.
• Good communication and energetic demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents and guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Record beverage and food orders in the POS, deliver and serve meals.
• Multi-task with a sense of urgency and greet guests warmly.
• Describe the day’s menu and specials, answer questions, and make recommendations.
• Deliver food promptly and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assignments may include Serving, Busser, Runner, Meal Plater, Catering, and Utility.

Ashby Ponds by Erickson Senior Living, a “Best Place to Work” award-winner, has immediate openings for Student Servers in our restaurants. No experience is needed – we’ll train you!

As a Student Server , you’ll gain valuable hospitality and customer service experience while learning every aspect of the dining room operation. This role is designed to help you build professional skills, develop confidence, and grow within our team.

What we offer

• Compensation: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour, based on experience.
• Have weekday and weekend availability 3 shifts per week required.
• NO LATE NIGHTS –Shift starts at 4:45pm and typically ends by 8:45 pm.
• Free meals for dining servers during their shift.
• Scholarship opportunity for those who qualify. Earn money towards college or trade school.

How you will make an impact

• Servers are responsible for serving residents and guest meals in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• The server records and inputs into the POS system beverage and food orders, delivers and serves food, ensures exceptional guest service.
• This position requires the ability to multi task with a sense of urgency.
• Greet guests warmly and enthusiastically.
• Describe the day’s menu and specials, answer questions, and make recommendations.
• Deliver food promptly and ensure that the guests are satisfied with their choices.
• Assignments can include Serving, Busser, Runner, Meal Plater, Catering and Utility.

What you will need

• Serving experience preferred, but we will train.
• Ability to work in a face-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays, and lift up to 25 pounds.

• Have good communication skills.
